Hey Tony, Thanks for the tip about Vinnie Cutro’s new CD Sakura. I downloaded the mp3 version this morning. It’s amazing. What a band. They do ’Round Midnight, and check out Vinnie and Bergonzi trading off on Big Chief!

This is great – hope it catches on!!
I got a call to sub at a big band rehearsal at our Union Hall this am. The upright made its “debut” – normally I play my electric (security blanket), but they encouraged me to take the old flatback out of the basement!! It was a great session!! This group is led by Steve Badalamenti – his brother Angelo wrote the soundtrack to “Twin Peaks” among many other things….

Duh….so how do you add someone as a friend on this site???

Hey Tony! Always bring your horn when you come to The Burg’! The Wednesday jam session is really happening now! We get a lot of great players from all over the Greater Pittsburgh area. You’ll have a blast!

Playing two or three gigs a month, having
a few rehearsals and attending a few jams.
The fret hand is fine but I broke my foot
a couple of weeks ago and had to play a gig
seated which I generally never do. Been playing much?

I just found those in my closet and scanned them. They are at the Aspen Music Festival which I did in the Summer of 1990. Kind of how I picture Jazz Vermont in my mind: playing all day long and we had a concert every Friday, often with guest soloists.
It was a nice experience.

That was a runner-up? Wow. It’s a really nice illustration. I hope you used it to make a tee-shirt anyway.

Tony, is that your work, the Jazz Vermont image in Peter’s photo gallery? That’s really nice. Would make an awesome tee-shirt.
